Mirage (Part 1)

Obliquely in the shadows
Like a murmur of the eye
Peripheral to vision
In a misted, glazed disguise
A hint, a shade, a suggestion
An impression leaving scars
At the edges of this reality
Where the daylight meets the dark.
A dance upon the watcher’s gaze
A glint across the sight
A muse, a ruse, an attitude
Where daylight embraces night
In fevered gaze, unwavering
An hypnotic, lysergic stare
So fixed upon smudged horizons
The ever, almost, never there...................
